Yoga Classes
-

Hatha Yoga
Hatha Yoga is a foundational and traditional style of yoga practice that focuses on physical postures (asanas) and breath control (pranayama) to align, strengthen, and purify the body and mind. It emphasises balance between opposing forces, such as strength and flexibility, and aims to create harmony.. Hatha yoga classes typically involve a series of static poses held for varying durations, combined with conscious breathing techniques. This style of yoga provides a solid framework for beginners to develop a deeper understanding of yoga postures and their effects, while also offering the more experienced yoga an opportunity to refine their practice and explore subtler aspects of yoga.
-

Slow Flow / Vinyasa Yoga
Vinyasa Yoga, often called Flow Yoga, is a dynamic style of yoga where movement is synchronised with breath. Unlike some other yoga forms that hold poses for extended periods, Vinyasa seamlessly links postures together in a fluid sequence. Each inhale or exhale guides you into or out of a pose, creating a continuous rhythm that helps build internal heat and improve cardiovascular fitness.
Because there's no fixed sequence, Vinyasa classes can vary widely depending on the instructor, offering a creative and diverse practice. The focus on linking breath and movement not only builds strength, flexibility, and balance but also helps calm the mind, transforming the physical practice into a moving meditation.
Although suitable for all levels, if you are completely new to yoga practice we recommend trying a hatha, soothe or yin class first.
-

Yin Yoga
Yin yoga is an amazing release practice that explores deeply into our body with passive, longer-held poses. It targets the deepest tissues of the body, our connective tissues, ligaments, joints, bones, the deep fascia networks of the body and the meridians. Energetically, Yin yoga improves the energy flow, enhancing the flow of prana in the organs as well as offering healing and calming for the mind.
-

Restorative Yoga
In this class we explore different breathing techniques (pranayama) and movement (asana) with the breath. There is a blend of standing, seated and lying poses as well as some balancing postures. The overall intention of the practice is to calm, slow down and connect the mind, body and breath.
Barre Classes
-

Barre
Barre is a dynamic workout that combines elements of pilates, ballet and strength training. We use a ballet barre for support whilst performing small isometric movements targeting specific muscle groups.
The class incorporates light weights, resistance bands and body weight exercises to sculpt the arms, legs, glutes and core.
This class is upbeat and energetic, perfect for individuals looking for a challenging yet graceful full body workout.
Grip socks are essential for attending class.

A barre workout is generally designed to be a full-body muscular endurance workout – think low resistance, high reps.
Barre's ballet inspiration is often reflected in the class programming with traditional ballet exercises such as plies, arabesques and a lot of unilateral work (working on one side of the body at a time).
Barre provides an efficient high-intensity yet low-impact full-body workout, meaning that it works you hard but without putting any unnecessary strain on your body.
Barre heightens your sense of control, balance and your coordination with a focus on working your core, arms, glutes, thighs and abdominals, all with a low impact exercise.
-
Pilates, celebrated for its gentle, low impact approach, fosters balanced strength by refining muscle coordination. This refined strength, particularly emphasising the core, not only enhances everyday movement but also proves invaluable for various physical activities, including sports and recovery. By improving core stability, Pilates enhances overall movement efficiency, aiding in daily tasks and leisure activities, while also benefiting athletic performance and reducing the risk of injuries. Moreover, its focus on controlled movements and breathwork promotes better recovery, ensuring a quicker return to activities and minimising downtime.
-
We can cater for up to 14 people in a pilates or yoga class and up to 4 in a reformer class.
Barre classes can include up to 8 people at a time.
